The famous Dumery carillon of Bruges, which dates from 1742-1748, comprises 47 bells with a total weight of 59.400 lbs.
This 18th century carillon was preceded by three older ones, dating respectively from 1528, 1603-1631 and 1673. In 1969, 21 smaller bells were recast by Eijsbouts. Besides these bells, there is also the 9 ton cylinder for the mechanical carillon, the famous Triumph Bell (1680, 12.295 lbs weight), cast by M. De Haze, and the remarkable clockwork mechanism,
made by A. De Hondt in 1748.
In 2010, during the restauration ( by Clock-o-Matic), the 21 non-historical bells where replaced by new bells (Royal Eysbouts) that fit perfectly with the Dumery-bells.
